There will be a combined test for admission to Class XI (Science stream) and Diploma in Engineering. Courses will be allotted in order of merit and based on preference given by candidates.

 

Candidates admitted to Senior Secondary School Certificate (Science Stream) shall have to study the following Subjects:

a) English Core

b) Physics

c) Chemistry

d) Mathematics /Biology / Home Science (any one)

e) One Elective Subject

 

Note - Home Science will be offered to female candidates only.

 

Diploma in Engineering is available in following branches:

  • Civil Engineering

  • Computer Engineering

  • Electrical Engineering

  • Electronics Engineering

  • Information Technology

  • Electrical & Instrumentation Engineering

  • Mechanical Engineering

  • Architectural Assistantship

  • Interior Design

  • Leather Goods & Footwear Technology

Eligibility

Secondary School Certificate of this University or its equivalent examination with not less than 45% marks in aggregate of English, Science (including Life Sciences) and Mathematics taken together. Further, the candidate should have passed English, Maths and Science individually at the qualifying examination.

 

For Diploma in Engineering, A candidate who has passed higher examination with English, Physics, Chemistry and Maths as subjects, with not less than 45% marks in aggregate of English, Physics, Chemistry and Maths of equal weightage is also eligible.

 

 

Age Limit : Not more than 19 years for Class XI and not more than 21 years for Diploma in Engineering as on 01st July in the year of admission.

Exam Analysis

There shall be one objective type paper of 100 marks comprising 100 questions with the following breakup :

a) Science (Physics, Chemistry and Life Science) : 50 Marks

b) Mathematics : 30 Marks

c) General Knowledge : 10 Marks

d) Indo-Islamic Culture : 10 Marks

 

Exam Duration – 2 hrs

 

Mode of Examination – Offline (OMR based)

 

Negative Marking - For incorrect response, 0.25 marks will be deducted.

Language - The test paper shall be available in English, Hindi and Urdu.

Test Centre(s) - The Admission Test shall be held at Aligarh (U.P.), Lucknow (U.P.), Meerut (U.P.), Bareilly (U.P.), Srinagar (J. & K.), Kolkata (W.B.), Patna (Bihar) & Kishanganj (Bihar).

Syllabus

a) Science (Physics, Chemistry and Life Science) : 50 Questions - 50 Marks

The Admission Tests will be based on the syllabi prescribed by the Aligarh Muslim University for its Secondary School Certificate Examination (Class IX and X). The test paper for Class XI (Science Stream) will be available in three languages (English / Hindi / Urdu). The general standard of the Test shall be that of the qualifying examination which is presently almost similar to the CBSE / NCERT syllabus of Physics, Chemistry and Life Sciences.

b) Mathematics : 30 Questions - 30 Marks

The general standard of the Test shall be that of the qualifying examination which is presently almost similar to the CBSE / NCERT syllabus of Mathematics.

c) General Knowledge : 10 Question - 10 Marks

Games and Sports - 2 marks

Basic Geography - 2 marks

Indian Polity - 2 marks

Awards and Honours - 1 mark

Books and Authors - 1 mark

Current Affairs (Persons and Places in News) - 2 marks

d) Indo-Islamic Culture : 10 Question - 10 Marks
